Sundays are for wandering
Sundays are sacred days for me.
By this I don't mean religiously. They're the days when I can settle down, reflect upon the past week, think about my goals for the following week - sunday is the day for instrospection and for soul-searching.
So last week I decided it was time to just grab my camera and explore central Saint Petersburg with no aim in mind: simply go where the road takes me.
I too often get so caught up with life and being busy that I forget how valuable it can be to just put some music on, grab a warm coat, and wander. See, explore, feel, think.
Not only it was great for settling my mind, but I was blessed with an amazing clear, sunny day, a beautiful sunset and a stunning twilight. I probably walked for about 6 hours and every single minute of it was worth it.
If you're ever travelling in Saint Petersburg, or in any large city, I definitely recommend you do this: just take a day off, grab your camera or smartphone, and walk. Notice everything: the streets, people, the sky, buildings, movement around you, smells. Be mindful. It's amazing how much more we see when we simply take a moment to actually look. And I can guarantee it will definitely show in the quality of your photos, whether you're a huge photo enthusiast or you just want a great instagram shot.
I leave you, then, with this challenge, and a full gallery of the photos I took on my photo-exploration.
Drop me a comment with your own thoughts on Sundays, exploring or photography. Looking forward to hearing from you!
